Into the Wild

I'm just not sure what to think, was it amazing, typical, sad, happy - all I know is I love Eddie.

Friday, December 28, 2007

Stardust

I love magic, I just do.

Juno

Clever, unique and kept you guessing - in a weird sort of way.

Friday, December 21, 2007

Flushed Away

Disappointingly, a child's film.

Yours, Mine and Ours

Ummm, hello, already been done, Cheaper By the Dozen - I hate comparing movies, but get real.

Mr. Brooks

One of those movies that remains in your subconscience for a while, wish it weren't so darn predicatable.

Wednesday, December 19, 2007

Waitress

Fantastic, sad, yet full of life and amusement, happy.

Monday, December 17, 2007

The Namesake

Wow, heard it was good, saw it was good, now I am telling you, it was good.

Saturday, December 01, 2007

The Darjeeling Limited

The dry, weirdness of Wes Anderson films finally meshed perfectly with the characters and storyline to create an irresistibly wonderful film.

Monday, November 26, 2007

Snakes on a Plane

Everything I expected, and nothing more.

August Rush

Musically wonderful, and fairytale-ishly dramatic.

Sunday, November 25, 2007

Friends With Money

Despite being an abrupt ender (which really grinds my gears), it was rather enchanting.

Sunday, November 18, 2007

Godsend

A bit weird, a bit boring.

Stomp The Yard

Actually, despite what could be called a cheesy, typical plot, the film was great, loved the style of editting (as if I know what I'm talking about.)

Thursday, November 15, 2007

1408

Not real scary, but then again, I had to convince myself of that because I was home alone, watching it late.

Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Wicker Park

Weird, the same actress as the last movie, and I picked these movies completely seperately at completely different times...liked it though.

Wednesday, November 07, 2007

Copying Beethoven

It kind of bothered me when the actress would switch accents, but she was very pretty, guess we can't have it all.

Sunday, November 04, 2007

American Gangster

This movie never really had me gripped, but it never let me drift either.

Eragon

I really want a baby dragon.

Transformers

Good, but not quite the movie the boys had told me it would be...

Sunday, October 21, 2007

Thursday, October 11, 2007

Because I Said So

The movie was cute, and Johnny was hot.

Monday, October 08, 2007

The Fountainhead

Too blatent for philosophy.

Sunday, October 07, 2007

Does Ben Stiller just wait around until the most frustrating comedy comes out, gee whiz, shoot me in the foot!

Tuesday, October 02, 2007

Lord of War

Another NC movie, but this one really is good, and disturbing.

Next

I just like Nicholas Cage, what can I say....except for Wicker Man - top 3 worst movies of all time!

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

North Country

Wow, so frustrating.

Monday, September 24, 2007

Shooter

Gripping and beautiful all the way through.

Thursday, September 06, 2007

North By Northwest

Whenever I asked my mother to recommend an older film to me, she mentioned this one, I can see why.

Tuesday, September 04, 2007

The History Boys

Rather odd behavior made to seem completely normal, amongst young boys, hmmm?

Saturday, September 01, 2007

Fast Food Nation

The sad thing is...I still like McDonald's and Wendy's and Taco Bell.

Tuesday, August 28, 2007

The Last King of Scotland

I had a premonition that this movie was not going to be very good...it was very accurate.

Friday, August 17, 2007

Superbad

Man, that was super funny, did not stop laughing, seriously, there was not a single scence during which I did not laugh.

The Number 23

Not quite the thriller I expected, more drama and suspense, but I did watch it on 8/15 which equals 23...spooky.

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Disturbia

Very real-life feel, I actually believed that an 18 y/o boy would behave this way under similar circumstances.

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

The Last Sin Eater

Yet another recruiting tool for the Pentecostals...I have been born again.

Friday, August 10, 2007

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

So creative, and weird, if you can look beyond length it's a keeper.

Wednesday, August 08, 2007

Confetti

A fabulous documentary style comedy following the most "original" wedding contestants, look out Best in Show.

Wednesday, August 01, 2007

Black Snake Moan

Just really weird, I think it was supposed to be a serious and thought provoking movie, I think.

Sunday, July 29, 2007

Run Lola Run

Direct quote from Matt, "How do you find these movies?" answer, "I don't know, but I like it."

Friday, July 27, 2007

Take the Lead

Well, corny for starters, predictable for entree, and slightly entertaining to finish up the night.

Tuesday, July 24, 2007

The Illusionist

Reminds me nothing of The Prestige, and I do like it a lot; clever.

Sunday, July 22, 2007

Ghost Rider

Nicholas Cage is actually aging well, who would have thought?

The Lake House

Lapsing time, magical mailboxes, it sounded so intriguing, but to quote a friend, "I cannot think of two people's vioces I'd not like to listen to more."

Sunday, July 15, 2007

Breach

Reminiscent of The Queen and The Zodiac.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix (5)

Five movies already, and I loved every minute of every one; Harry better not die.

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

Evan Almighty

Well, I can't stand Lorelai, but I love Wanda, so I guess the movie wasn't so bad; in fact, I'd go so far as to say it was funny.

The World's Fastest Indian

A wonderful film about fulfilling one's dreams despite major obstacles; also doesn't hurt to be a friendly, harmless, old man.

Monday, July 09, 2007

The Patriot

A friend compared this to Gladiator and Braveheart, I see his point.

Thursday, July 05, 2007

Akeelah and the Bee

Just a nice movie, exactly what I expected and what I hoped for...I recommend it to all.

Friday, June 29, 2007

Flicka

It doesn't even matter that the acting was bad and the story line was cheesy, I could look at horses for hours.

Wednesday, June 27, 2007

Open Season

I laughed out loud because a squirrel passed out from skunk gas; you be the judge.

Friday, June 22, 2007

Night at the Museum

Light hearted and entertaining, very cute.

Monday, June 11, 2007

The Kid

And thus begins my Summer of children's movies.

Oh, how I do love a true, yet still a bit cheesy, Cinderella story!

Blood Diamond

What superb acting - watching this movie made me feel really stupid for loving my diamond ring.

Thursday, June 07, 2007

Wednesday, June 06, 2007

Everything is Illuminated

I have to wonder if I would have found this movie as funny pre - Borat/Ally-G, but wonderful nontheless.

Knocked Up

Why is real life hilarious when it's Paul Rudd and Judd Apatow, but absolutely frustrating when it is you?

Saturday, June 02, 2007

Fur

I recommend knowing something about Diane Arbus before watching this film, but do watch it.

Wednesday, May 30, 2007

The Prestige

Phenominal cast + beautiful scenery + great comic relief + a little creepyness + a little suspense = Perfect film.

Saturday, May 26, 2007

The Queen

So, I think I have a slight issue with historical movies about a bunch of people who are still alive, but it was long, slow, boring and well done - my kind of film.

Dreamgirls

Beyonce's voice is annoying.

Monday, May 21, 2007

Pan's Labyrinth

Wow; enjoyed every moment (despite the creepy looking faun).

Wednesday, May 16, 2007

Babel

I really wish that Crash hadn't come out in the last 3 years, because they are kind of the same.

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Bad Santa

Ok, I liked it - I really did, but was this movie meant to be funny? sad? pathetic? uplifting? a comedy? a tragedy? or creepy?

A Good Year

I went into this movie blindly, no expectation, didn't even know who was in it, and I left very satisfied.

Sunday, May 13, 2007

Catch & Release

Hmmm, a little weird, a little depressing, a little happy, yet shockingly enough, it kept my attention.

Monday, May 07, 2007

The Greatest Game Ever Played

Wow, somebody figured out a way to make golf very intense and intriguing!

Spiderman 3

I'm sorry to say, this thought came to me during this flim, "When is this movie going to end?"

Thursday, May 03, 2007

Empire of the Sun

Three questions: "Why have I never seen this before?", "Why do we have to grow up?" and "How has Christian Bale not changed in looks since he was 12?".

Freedom Writers

Very sad in a happy sort of way, you know, one of those movies where you leave wondering if you feel better or worse about the world in which we live.

Equilibrium

I have no opinion because I am numb, and cannot feel.

Friday, April 27, 2007

Jesus Camp

Did you know that brain-washing children in the name of the Lord is niether insane, nor wrong?

Monday, April 23, 2007

Volver

Oh, Penelope is just so gosh darn good-looking, and the movie was so bright and entertaining - the end.

The Pursuit if Happyness

I knew it was going to be 2 hours of frustration going into it, but, man, it is painful; it doesn't even matter if you know there's a happy ending.

Tuesday, April 17, 2007

Children of Men

A nicely done mix of "V for Vendetta" and "28 Day Later" makes this film beautifully entertaining and thought provoking.

Friday, April 13, 2007

Madagascar

"I like him so much you hate him compared to how much I like him" is the line that sold me.

Thursday, April 12, 2007

Charlotte's Web (2006)

Despite my distaste for Dakota, and the oddness of Julia's voice for an animated spider, it was rather delightful - but I'm biased, love the story!

Meet the Robinsons

Great characters, cute, charming, funny, and lovable - keeps kid's attention well.

Thursday, April 05, 2007

Blades of Glory

Chaz and Jimmy remind me of my bickering brothers...only they're clever and amusing, my brothers are just annoying.

Tuesday, April 03, 2007

Happy Feet

Absolutely not what I expected, in an odd way, but now I really want a talking baby penguin named: Gloria.

Casino Royale

With such a prevalent love story, this was a 007 for the ladies.

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

Marie Antoinette

A constant stream of beautiful artwork, that leaves you hanging/wanting more, not necessarily in a good way, nor bad.

Monday, March 26, 2007

The Shawshank Redemption

I interrupt the regularly scheduled reviews to address an issue that has been eating me up inside. The first time I saw this film in '94, the moment it finished, I thought, that's it! That is the best movie I have ever seen and it instantly became my number one (just a tid bit about myself, I have always ranked movies). From that moment if favorite movie was ever asked of me, Shawshank it was. Then, very slowly, others began to see its excellence, so it was at the top of everyone's list by 2000. Why the delay?

Friday, March 23, 2007

Science of Sleep

Stephane was confused...I was confused, dreams were nicely brought to life.

Thursday, March 22, 2007

Half Nelson

Loved the lingo, felt the pain, enjoyed the soundtrack.

Music and Lyrics

WARNING: will exit movie with song in head (unfortunately catchy tune).

Zodiac

Based on a true story, therefore, a bit long and a bit pointless, yet the actors made it quite enjoyable.

Monday, March 19, 2007

300

Troy + Gladiator + House of Flying Daggers = Only movie about a battle that can be described as beautiful.
